This is a highly unique collector's piece with a special story, as it was personally self-collected by us during a mineralogical field trip to the famous Acton Vale quarry in Montérégie, Quebec.

This exceptional specimen features a delicate crystallization of soft pink manganoan calcite formed in elegant "petal" clusters. Its airy texture is beautifully enhanced by fine inclusions of marcasite, dusted across the crystals to add subtle, brilliant metallic flashes. Gracefully perched on its original matrix, this piece offers a striking contrast of forms and textures. A true treasure of Quebec geology, perfect for collectors passionate about local minerals and high-quality, self-collected specimens.

Product Mineral : Mangano calcite (also known as manganocalcite) is a soft pink variety of calcite mineral rich in manganese. The chemical formula is written as (Ca, Mn), CO3. It is celebrated for its delicate peachy-pink colors. The marcassite is a iron disulfide FeS2, very close to the pyrite.
